Meet Kristin Toms
With a professional foundation in communications, finance and business, Kristin is known for her ability to balance fiscal responsibility with the need to provide essential and enriching community services. In four of the six years of Kristin's terms, Sturgeon County residents have benefited from 0 percent annual tax rate increases.

Division two is an extremely busy division and requires a full time commitment to serving its residents. Kristin has had a near 100 percent attendance record to Council, Committee and Board meetings. She has committed to continuous education on topics such as governance, economics, industry, environment, infrastructure, agriculture and innovation to ensure that decisions are made based on accurate and current data and information. She has consistently focused on aligning present-day priorities and preservation of the unique attributes of our county with long-term goals, while remaining attuned to the diverse needs of individuals and families across the county.

Kristin strongly believes in the power of two-way communication and meaningful engagement. She is committed to fostering understanding of complex issues and ensuring that a wide range of voices—from residents to local businesses—are heard and reflected in decision-making. Whether it is attending public hearings and engagement sessions, engaging via social media, meeting with community groups or having one on one conversations with residents and stakeholders, Kristin is always there for her community. She understands that serving people means balancing the inevitability, opportunity and discomfort of change and growth with protecting and preserving the attributes and values that are unique to our County.

An active member of the community, Kristin has volunteered in many roles over the years, including school parent councils, Rotary, youth soccer coaching, community events, and charitable initiatives focused on health and wellness.
